About Tom Van Dawark
Tom was born and raised in a small community south of Portland, Oregon. He worked on the family farm from an early age and attended high school with 14 classmates. Tom received his Business Administration degree at the University of Oregon, served in the Army and returned to Oregon for his MBA.
Tom has been fortunate to have the opportunity to serve as a CEO with high reliability organizations such as Foss Maritime and Todd Shipyard, as well as a governance leader as Board Chair at the Virginia Mason Health System and a member of the Seattle Children's Hospital Board Quality Committee. Tom enjoys working with community and rural hospital leaders and has successfully assisted a number of organizations in performance improvement work.
Orca Partners was established to fulfill a commitment to share with others the lessons I have been fortunate to learn as a CEO, governance leader and consultant.
Tom and his wife Janet live on Whidbey Island north of Seattle with their ten-year-old grandson Damien.
